Welder A

POSITION SUMMARY

Set-up and run production welding equipment (Mig and Tig), keeping up with production schedules and meeting quality requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Be able to run Mig and Tig equipment for welding sheet metal components, assuring quality and productivity.
  • Reads and interprets blue prints of part components, and performs precision layout / set-up of components for welding.
  • Keep up with traveler and paperwork flow by logging correct number of parts run to specifications.
  • May assist Weld Lead in the training and Qualification of less experienced welders.
  • Responsible to know and enforce all Company and Safety rules and regulations, providing suggestions for improvement to quality and safety as they are identified.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as the job requires or as assigned by management.
  • Help in other departments as needed.
SUBORDINATE STAFF

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Welding Certification(s) preferred.
  • At least 2 years experience in Mig and Tig welding in a manufacturing environment required.
TRAINING REQUIRED
  • ISO-9000 Implementation
  • OSHA Compliance
  • Forklift Certification
  • Mig and Tig Welding Qualifications
  • Departmental Training as Required
SKILLS
  • Familiar with a wide variety of welding equipment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both Mig and Tig welding.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Ability to understand and follow all instructions given.
  • Possess good interpersonal, communication, and training skills.
  • Ability to effectively use and read precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
    None
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • LIFTING: 0-100lbs.
  • FREQUENCY: Daily

Operation of machinery in this department requires the use of proper PPE and Safety Procedures.

Turret Operator A - NIGHT SHIFT

POSITION SUMMARY

Set-up and operate turret machines as required to produce various hole patterns in metal to meet production schedule in order to produce sheet metal parts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Set up turret in press with punch and die according to prints, shim or adjust for correct depth as required.
  • Position work holder clamps in proper location according to blueprint.
  • Check product for 100% quality.
  • Installs and changes out dies as required. Pulls punches and dies from turret and sharpens on grinder as needed to eliminate burrs on the final product.
  • Keep up with traveler and paperwork flow by logging correct number of parts run to specifications.
  • Work with the quality department to assure all parts are being run to specification.
  • Monitors operation of the turret and reports any maintenance needs to management. May perform some minor maintenance tasks on the machines.
  • May assist in the training of less experience operators.
  • Responsible to know and enforce all Company and Safety rules and regulations, providing suggestions for improvement to quality and safety as they are identified.

  • 2 or more years experience operating a turret punch press required, Amada experience preferred.

  • Departmental Training as Required

SKILLS

  • Familiar with various models of turret punch presses.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with reading / interpreting blueprints.
  • Be able to accurately complete all required daily paperwork.
  • Have an understanding of CNC programming.
  • Ability to understand and follow all instructions given.
  • Possess good interpersonal, communication, and training skills.
  • Ability to effectively use and read precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • None

  • LIFTING: Up to 50 lbs.
  • FREQUENCY: Daily
